Continuing our long time collaboration with Thom Fougere we’re offering a special new finish for the arm sofa, round coffee table and Tambour cabinet. The finish is inspired by the beautiful elmwood used in French modernist furniture (think Perriand and Chapo). We looked into sourcing elm, but the quality wasn’t good enough especially considering all of our pieces are made from solid substantial lumber. The next best idea was to develop this special smoke oil finish on our usual oakwood. We are absolutely thrilled with it! It’s a very similar effect but in a much denser and harder wood (not to mention, local).
Since the finish is a limited batch we’re only going to be offering the sofa and cabinet in an edition of 2x each! It’s a small run, but this will ensure the specialness for the people who do make an order.
