Takazawa Candle was founded in Nanao, Japan in 1892 continues to make traditional Japanese candles. The candles use a wax derived from the fruit of Japanese wax or lacquer trees with a wick made of dried grass wound around a hollow core made from traditional Japanese washi paper. Once the wax is set in a mold, the shaping of each candle is finished by hand.
