Murano glass at Mjölk

We’re excited to receive a fresh collection Mjölk exclusives: The Uki candle holder and Zen flower vase. Both are designed by Luca Nichetto with glass made in Murano, Italy and metal components made here in Toronto. It is two cultures coming together to create something beautiful.

Photographed on the left is the incredible Nassa vase also designed by Luca Nichetto for Mjölk. The Nassa vase is limited edition of seven pieces with only a couple remaining.

Han and Zen

The Bauhaus art school was celebrated for its use of pure, universal forms, and it’s to this vaunted early-20th-century design institution that the Zen/Han containers tip their hats.

Referencing the angular form of classic vases, the Zen/Han glass containers come in two distinct, geometric shapes – a full and half rhombus that slot together seamlessly when placed side by side and finished in a soft colour palette.

Tulipa Planters

Another new addition to the store are these wonderful textured Tulipa planters designed by Claesson Koisivisto Rune and made in Portugal by ceramic artist João Lourenço.

It’s always so nice to have works by Claesson Koivisto Rune here in the shop. They were the first designers we ever worked with on a product — a milk, sugar and tray set called “Ceremony” which really set the foundation for all future product collaborations here.

There are three sizes available making them perfect to fold into interior projects!

Sand Entry Mat

The Sand Entry Mats by Kristine Five Melvær are back in stock. These mats are inspired by Japanese gravel gardens and come in very handy dealing with the harsh winter conditions.

Reading chair

In furniture and lighting news — The Reading chair by Finn Juhl is back on display in walnut and oak ply. This is the version used in Finn Juhl’s personal home.

The Pastille Table Lamp now available in raw tumbled aluminium. The material provides a rich and natural texture. The switch is quietly concealed at the top of the vertical arm bracket. The raw surface against the rich oiled walnut desk looks incredible.

Did anyone see our straw braided horse featured in T Magazine?

We sold out immediately after the feature, so thank you to everyone who purchased one of these braids for the Lunar New Year. Although they are sold out we have some other beautiful rice straw braids available including the Turtle, Bird and the larger Sumo and Iwai Knot braids.

Antique Edo Period Carved Horse

Our sweetheart of a horse here in the back of the Mjölk showroom.
The grain is absolutely amazing and the tattered leather saddle and mane only adds

to the atmosphere.
