Mirroring the aesthetic of the NDS2 trolley, the side table is an iteration of Alima’s design language. In this product, the second shelf becomes a drawer, allowing essential items to be hidden away, making it perfect as a bedside table, keeping things calm and clear. Swapping castors for chrome feet with rubber caps, this small but thoughtful adaptation prevents the side table from rolling when using the drawer.
Shaped by real world experiences, Alima began as a multipurpose trolley and solution to the challenges faced while at work in the studio or at home. Wanting to expand on this core principle, when designers Kristoffer Fagerström and Malin Engvall, of Note (design studio), began working on the Alima additions, they compiled a list of every need the new variations should cover. This list – which spanned from hiding away messy charging cables at the bedside, to finding the optimum height and length to counterbalance modern televisions, to fitting vinyl records – shaped the new products.
