Antique Shigaraki Pot
This beautiful large scale pot was made in the Shigaraki area of Japan; one of the six ancient kilns of Japan near Kyoto.
The clay used for this pot is from the bed of Lake Biwa which is known for producing a warm orange colour.
An incredible example of ancient Japanese pottery.
Muromachi period (1336 - 1573) to Momoyama period (1568-1600)
