Large antique lacquer-ware sake pourer
A large wooden lacquerware sake server from northern Japan. Vessels of these size would be used for large celebrations, such as those held on New Years.
Urushi lacquerware, traditionally made from mixing tree sap with iron powder, seals and protects wood vessels to be used for meal and liquid use.
Very rare. This pourer is in near-perfect condition, showing only the faintest ware.
