Bamboo Harvest Basket
A hand woven over-sized bamboo basket made by an artisan in Ohita, Kyu-shu prefecture and designed by Jurgen Lehl.
The basket making technique is called "Yatara-ami" which means to weave in a blindly and natural motion, which is much harder to do than the usual repetitive method.
Used in Japan traditionally for foraging mountain herbs and bamboo shoots. This basket can be used for harvesting garden vegetables and using the basket as a strainer to rinse the vegetables off with water.
