Japanese lacquered wood spout bowl
This lacquered wooden bowl has aged beautifully and developed a lovely rich patina from many years of use.
Looking to the inside you can see the faint red lacquereware seeping through which provides a stunning contrast to the black lacquer.
The bowl also features an unusually sharper spout which we have not seen before.
The bowl is from the Edo period 18th - 19th century, Japan.
